GCM update 3.27.2009

Joe had a very successful job campaign using the GCM process and taking full advantage of the coaching that was provided.  He interviewed with several companies before landing the position he was hoping for.  The compensation package GCM helped him to negotiate is base plus bonus with the possibility of making $175K the first year, $200K the second.

GCM update 3.24.2009

Jon came to GCM to leverage his experience, get training to be a stronger interviewer and help build the perceived value he needed to put a solid foundation under his new career.   GCM revamped his resume and helped him map a new campaign strategy.  Within 4 weeks he won a position with a company making $9K over his previous salary.  This was the second position he got by using the GCM process.

Mahala did an excellent job of utilizing the GCM services and paid particular attention to honing her interviewing skills and knowing how to uncover needs and build value.  She had several interviews and negotiated as she was taught by GCM.  The final offer that she accepted resulted in a $15K increase over her previous salary and great benefits.

Chris had been laid off and came to GCM after interviewing with a number of companies and not receiving any offers.  GCM identified his interviewing problem areas and helped to fine tune his sense of direction.  The new GCM resume, along with extensive interview prep, resulted in much more positive response from employers.  He interviewed with 8 different companies before finding just the right match and he is extremely happy with the package he was able to negotiate.

GCM evaluated Jeff’s skills and performance highlights and found not only was he a very cabable and driven sales performer, but his in-depth businss understanding was beyond most sales professionals.  The GCM goal was to combine sales and new product/market developement.  He received interview prep from GCM and learned how to present his transferable skills.  It went over very well and the final interview resulted in a fair offer with potential of upwards of $200K in 2 years with a fast growing company.

GCM prepared two new resumes for Terene, one that was orientated toward Program/Project & Administrative Management and one supporting Corporate Media & PR Specialist. These new resumes created a lot of interest and she received extensive interview prep for each one from GCM. The offer she accepted was negotiated well using the GCM method and she is extremely pleased with the results of the service.

Andrew came to GCM to gain a better sense of direction.  He had steady employment at the time, but was bored and looking for a higher salary as well.  After distributing the new GCM resume several companies made contact with him.  GCM provided interview training and helped to fine tune his presentation.  As a result he was able to stay focused and work continually to uncover needs and build his value with the company.  It was a drawn out interview process, but when the offer came in it was beyond expectation and he readily accepted it.

Dave had a very bad termination to overcome when he joined GCM.  Apart from this situation, his performance had been exceptional. I n the GCM interview prep and strategy sessions all the usual interview questions were covered, but particular emphasis on the issue of termination.  He learned how critical it was to handle his explanation and hold his composure. Using these skills he went through a series of interviews with a company and ended each interview with a recommendation to move forward.  The final hurdle was with the VP who had express reservations concerning the circumstances, but Dave handled himself superbly thanks to the coaching from GCM and was given the offer.  He was then able to negotiate the salary as well.

Priya didn’t feel that opportunities for career advancement were present in her current job when she came to GCM.  She wanted to leverage her five years of experience as much as possible to win more responsibility and move into a higher compensation range.  Her own resume lacked coherence, context and authority. Using her new GCM resume and the interview techniques she learned through video practice interview sessions, she was contacted by five different companies.  GCM helped her to enhance her confidence and maturity and the offer she finally accepted as a result was $10K higher than her original salary target.
